Skeleton Print Dress

Skeleton Print Dress was released on Stardoll a long time ago. It's originally from the Evil Panda store but you can purchase it on Starbazaar for accessible prices now (I got mine for 15sd, by the way). I personally adore the dress, it's a great piece for an alternative look:

In real life, skeletons are very used in dark clothing. These two are possible inspirations from Stardoll:

Don't you guys love the first dress? It's available in many alternative stores, I'm actually thinking about purchasing it.

Halloween COMPETITION

Now that everyone's getting their costumes on, it's a good time for a competition.

Theme:
Make a Halloween inspired outfit. You can tell us what your costume presents, but it's not mandatory. Make it as creative as possible. Don't worry about going over the top - the crazier it is, the better. Include some of your personal, preferably dark style, too. For inspiration, check out these posts.
You can also check out some real life costumes here. Let me just warn you though, if you dress up as Lady Gaga, I will hate you forever.

Instructions:
Make an outfit (that follows all the rules) in your Starplaza wardrobe or your own suite, take a screen shot and upload it to ImageShack/PhotoBucket/TinyPic. Paste the link to your outfit in comments. It would be nice if you also make a screen print of the make-up you use, but that's optional.

~ You can not write on the image or change it in any way, it has to be clear.
~ You must be a blog follower.
~ You must tell us your Stardoll nickname.

Hot Buys Tights

New goodies! The Hot Buys Tights have been released. I think they're one of the best pieces of the October Hot Buys. You can find them in the Fallen Angel store for only 12 stardollars. I was sort of hoping they'd have the bow pattern all over them, but oh well. They're still gorgeous. I think they look amazingly sexy with thigh high boots of any kind.

According to the other blogs, they're a mixture of two types of tights. The designer is Miss Selfridge. They actually cost about 10€ in real life so go ahead with buying if you like them. I'm considering it.. Anyway, here's the photo:

Halloween, part 2

There's a few Halloween time only offers - and I don't mean give-us-money-and-we'll-give-you-ugly-clothes kind of offers, I mean the stuff that's in the shops right now and is really worth buying.

1. If you haven't already, you have got to buy some of the Louise Bourgeois items that are back in the shop. They used to have their own shop (remember?). I bought 4 of these straight away. Photo:


2. If you visit the Glamorous shop, you'll notice they added a fang to their offer. It's not much, but it's very useful. I have 4 of these and I use them as a cigarette. I've seen other creative ideas, too, though.


3. There are some cool hidden shops that are definitely worth checking out. Who knows, they just might come in handy with your halloween outfit:

~ Tangled items

Halloween

There is nothing going on on Stardoll that's worth writing about, so I thought I'd make a special post. And what better theme than Halloween?
Now read something about the basics while listening to Marilyn Manson's song "This is Halloween":

The night of October 31, celebrated by children who dress in costume and solicit treats door-to-door.

Now some real life vs. Stardoll:

1. Jack-O'-Lantern

Pumpkin, Fallen Angel, 45 - 55 starcoins, depending on the type
Jack-O'-Lanterns are carved pumpkins with a candle in them. There's a legend about a blacksmith trapping the Devil and making him promise that he won't take the blacksmith's soul. So when he died, the blacksmith couldn't go to heaven or hell so he was stuck wondering the world with carved beetroot (=pumpkins later on) keeping him company.

2. Black cat

Black cats have been closely tied to Halloween for ages. Why? I'd say multiple reasons, the first one being superstition. They were also supposed to be the companions of witches. I've read that the owners of black cats are advised to keep them indoors for a week before Halloween because of theft.

3. Bats

These cute little creatures are linked to Halloween because of the link with vampires and blood-drinking. People used to make big bonfires to ward off evil spirits, so the fire attracted bugs, which attracted bats, so they were considered to be the evil spirits.

I was hoping Stardoll would provide us with some decent costumes too, but I guess not.. So I went through my closet and found some older clothing pieces that can be used as costumes. These are gothic lolita, angel, pirate and witch:

new Other World floor

There is another Other World floor that was just released. Again, there are some amazing fantasy items, my favorite one being the shoes and the wings. I like the take on Excalibur too, maybe they got the idea from the new movie Arthur? Who knows. Anyway, here's the new stuff:

new Miss Sixty floors (again)

Stardoll released some new Miss Sixty floors. This is probably the only all-superstar shop I still like. They always provide us with some good pieces that can be used in dark outfits and so they did it this time, too. There's 3 new floors and this time we can buy a sofa they (Miss Sixty) used on the set. Here they are:

New (Halloween?) Pêt-à-Porter

Two new Pêt-à-Porter floors have been released, this time with (what I think are) Halloween animals. We might not be getting new Tingeling Halloween Couture this year, but we sure as hell got some wicked interior stuff.
Now while I love their originality and will surely buy some items, I'm just not sure many people will.

I'd love to buy the dragon if it'd been made a bit better. I bought the dragon wings (sold separately from the dragon, thankfully) and I'll probably buy some of the other animals & regret it later. Anyone else bought anything?
Also, since they're Pêt-à-Porter, do you think they'll grow and if yes, into what?

Recycle Option in Beauty Parlor

Didn't notice how long ago this happened, but we can now recycle our past mistakes in Beauty Parlor:

it doesn't give us any money, but in a sense it allows us to breathe more freely nevertheless.

Evening Falls update

Evening Falls was updated with a few new amazing items matching the Halloween spirit. We have a lot of pieces to create the perfect dark and creepy atmosphere on our suites! Some stuff is for non-superstars also.

I've spent a lot here. What about you guys?

Hot buys Pleather Skirt

There's a new Hot buy piece available on stardoll. It's called Hot buys Pleather Skirt and you can get it for 14 stardollars. I don't know about you but I think it's incredibly nice looking:

In real life Stardoll got inspired by a Topshop skirt. I prefer the virtual version, actually:
