Halloween Costumes

So, today's Halloween and a bunch of users like to celebrate this holiday through Stardoll too. Whether intentional or not, check out some utterly creative costumes I've found through Stardoll:

Halloween COMPETITION

Now that everyone's getting their costumes on, it's a good time for a competition.

Theme:
Make a Halloween inspired outfit. You can tell us what your costume presents, but it's not mandatory. Make it as creative as possible. Don't worry about going over the top - the crazier it is, the better. Include some of your personal, preferably dark style, too. For inspiration, check out these posts.
You can also check out some real life costumes here. Let me just warn you though, if you dress up as Lady Gaga, I will hate you forever.

Instructions:
Make an outfit (that follows all the rules) in your Starplaza wardrobe or your own suite, take a screen shot and upload it to ImageShack/PhotoBucket/TinyPic. Paste the link to your outfit in comments. It would be nice if you also make a screen print of the make-up you use, but that's optional.

Rules:
~ You can not ask for votes.
~ You can not write on the image or change it in any way, it has to be clear.
~ You must be a blog follower.
~ You must tell us your Stardoll nickname.
~ You must leave the comment from your blogger account so we can check if you're a follower.
Your entry won't be valid if you don't follow the rules.

Prize:
The best outfit receives one of these:
~ sms code (worth 150 stardollars and 3 weeks of superstar) OR
~ 180 stardollars in cash

Halloween, part 2

There's a few Halloween time only offers - and I don't mean give-us-money-and-we'll-give-you-ugly-clothes kind of offers, I mean the stuff that's in the shops right now and is really worth buying.

1. If you haven't already, you have got to buy some of the Louise Bourgeois items that are back in the shop. They used to have their own shop (remember?). I bought 4 of these straight away. Photo:


2. If you visit the Glamorous shop, you'll notice they added a fang to their offer. It's not much, but it's very useful. I have 4 of these and I use them as a cigarette. I've seen other creative ideas, too, though.


3. There are some cool hidden shops that are definitely worth checking out. Who knows, they just might come in handy with your halloween outfit:
~ hidden Halloween animals
~ Sims pets
~ Natura faces make-up
~ Tangled items
~ Beastly items

There is nothing going on on Stardoll that's worth writing about, so I thought I'd make a special post. And what better theme than Halloween?
Now read something about the basics while listening to Marilyn Manson's song "This is Halloween":

Noun:

The night of October 31, celebrated by children who dress in costume and solicit treats door-to-door.

Now some real life vs. Stardoll:

1. Jack-O'-Lantern

Pumpkin, Fallen Angel, 45 - 55 starcoins, depending on the type
Jack-O'-Lanterns are carved pumpkins with a candle in them. There's a legend about a blacksmith trapping the Devil and making him promise that he won't take the blacksmith's soul. So when he died, the blacksmith couldn't go to heaven or hell so he was stuck wondering the world with carved beetroot (=pumpkins later on) keeping him company.

2. Black cat

Black cats have been closely tied to Halloween for ages. Why? I'd say multiple reasons, the first one being superstition. They were also supposed to be the companions of witches. I've read that the owners of black cats are advised to keep them indoors for a week before Halloween because of theft.

3. Bats

These cute little creatures are linked to Halloween because of the link with vampires and blood-drinking. People used to make big bonfires to ward off evil spirits, so the fire attracted bugs, which attracted bats, so they were considered to be the evil spirits.

I was hoping Stardoll would provide us with some decent costumes too, but I guess not.. So I went through my closet and found some older clothing pieces that can be used as costumes. These are gothic lolita, angel, pirate and witch:



And the last thing; if you'll be watching a movie with friends, here's some scary movie suggestions:
