A new store has arrived to the Starplaza: It's called Perfect Day, and is about...weddings.
The items are mainly dresses (or dress pieces), head accessories, shoes, gloves, bouquets.
Nothing is, in my opinion, worth buying. The prices range between 48 and 0$, most items being Superstar exclusive.
Here are the clothes and some of the objects that are also sold:
What do you think? I find all items
Marriage..pff! I don't know I might buy somethin non ss...:/ If there's something!
ReplyDeleteI will be buying a few items and I especially like the hats and veils but some items, shoes mainly are poorly done and the tops don't fit so well...
ReplyDeleteWell I sort of agree to your opinion, from clothing I only like the purple Dita von Teese wedding dress (items) ^^
ReplyDeletei will buy some of the hats and the veils!and maybe the purple skirt..i don't like anything else!
ReplyDeletei bought sum by accident cos i thougt they were 0sd insted of 8sd i was soo angry den cos i will neva wear it
ReplyDeleteI’ve been reading you and I thought you had some really good articles and some that are well not so good, just like this one. I’m sorry but I think now you’re just being superficial and condescending and here’s why: 1. you already knew stardoll wants money and wedding-dresses for girls…easy, you still use you’re sd account, also 2. you like Mcqueen whimsical, fairytale style kind of like Grimm’s tales involving well some other queens and princesses as in royalty exuberance, eccentricity, e for expensive stuff and some of the clothes in this line are well designed and fit this criteria; this is not a campaign for marriage unless you see it so.
ReplyDeleteI really, really, like this shop, and I am FAIRLY sure it is for the wedding of Prince William and Kate in England. ¬.¬`
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with "Anonymous" up there. You can make a lot of good-looking dresses or outfits from all the different pieces. Who gives a crap if it doesn't look emo.
They're so expensive! I mean, if you want a whole dress it costs about 30 sd..
ReplyDeleteSome items are nice, but most of them are poorly drawn
I love the new shop. Some pieces, like the Diana skirt are really helpful for someone who likes doing historical inspired outfits (like me).
ReplyDeleteI'm love veils. Some dresses are too color.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous and RoyalRuby - First of all, what I expressed there was my opinion. Just because I am not satisfied with one store does it mean I oblige everyone to share the same opinion? The McQueen and the Fantasy are very different from this one. The dresses are different, more creative and unique, while in this one I didn't find a single dress I liked. If you like them, good for you, but you have absolutely no right to call me superficial. This shop is related to weddings, the first floor's background is a Chapel, I believe people marry in those. There's a chariot and veils, even including a crown suggesting it's a royal wedding. Is this your everyday clothing? I recall only seeing people in such apparatus for weddings. I did not state it was a campaign to promote weddings as in some maniac brainwash, but mind me, the clothes are wedding related. You are reading "Anarchy On Stardoll" a blog which deals with alternative cultures. Since I direct my posts to our readers and followers, I didn't think that they would be particularly interested in hats and crowns. If you disagree, no problem, but respect my opinion. Also, the "emo" comment showed a great lack of inteligence. Have you seen me promote emo? I don't think so. I suggest you show your opinions about my post using more adequate vocabulary instead of a weak argument.
ReplyDeleteSome pieces are cool, but not my favorite store :(
ReplyDelete@ Kalashnikov: Let me just say, when I said I agreed with "Anonymous" I only meant a certain part, the "McQueen" part, not all of what she said. I should have specefied that--I apologize. I believe that if McQueen would have designed some of the dresses, you or others might like it, because it isn't from some stupid shop, and it "fired" me up when you said that almost all of the pieces were "motherf***ing pathetic." And the emo comment? I was not implying that you promote "emo." What I meant was that, if the clothes in this shop had been darker and more emo-ish (gothic, scene, they all are relatively the same thing with the dark clothes, I just chose to use the term emo, you would have not thought of them as "motherf***ing pathetic." Heck, I would like them more if they were darker. But just because they aren't doesn't mean they are "mother f***ing pathetic." But I DO respect your opinion and you have every right to say it.
ReplyDelete@RoyalRuby - No, I wouldn't like them if they were McQueen. I like clothing, not brands. There are items by McQueen that I do not like, and I found all of those in the store hideous, despite whose name it is on the tag. So what, I used motherfucking pathetic. Can't I express myself now? If you are that annoyed, read it as "rather unpleasant to my eyes". It's my way of speaking and I have every single right to express my opinion choosing the vocabulary I desire. Oh, and if the clothes were darker? Hm, I like dark clothing! If they were of my liking I wouldn't say they were MOTHERFUCKING PATHETIC, because I only negatively criticize clothing that I do not appreciate. Makes sense in my mind.
ReplyDelete@ Kalashnikov: I said probably. It's the same as LE. Most LE pieces are crappy (I'm by no means saying McQueen is crappy; I like his stuff, too) but people buy them just because of the expensive label. Although, I see your point and I can agree with that. Not everybody would buy something just because of the label.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I have no problem with colorful vocabulary. I tried to post the mofo word in my first post, but when it posted it wasn't there, so I assumed it wouldn't show up, but then you wrote it, so I guess I must have backspaced it accidentally. I use colorful vocabulary, too, I have absolutely no opposition to your using of that term, even if it is with virtual clothing. I see no problem with it, just a mix-up on my part about typing, lol. But that is besides the point.
I like darker clothing, too. But, I do agree with you again, that does make sense. I give you my apologizes, Kalashnikov. :)
@both: there actually is a McQueen inspired piece in the shop. + I'm the one that writes about McQueen mostly - and it's not because of the label, but because he's the only respected and well-known designer (as far as I know) that uses skulls and darker motives. I don't like all of his stuff either, I wouldn't buy an ugly piece he designed just because of the label.
ReplyDeleteI bought the black veil because I thought I'd make a good 'Bride Of Frankenstein' look!
ReplyDeleteI personally think the veils and hats are very useful, even for a gothic outfit. The black veil is nice :P
